Not at all. Our taekwondo program is designed for complete beginners as well as experienced martial artists. Our instructors will guide you through every technique from the fundamentals up, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident from your very first class.

We offer taekwondo classes for children, teens, and adults. Each class is structured to match the appropriate age group and skill level, so every student receives training that is both safe and challenging for their stage of development.

Students advance through a series of colored belt levels, each with specific technique and knowledge requirements. Promotions are earned through consistent attendance, demonstrated skills, and meeting testing criteria. Our instructors provide clear guidance on what is expected at every rank.

Absolutely. Safety is a top priority at Side Kicks Karate. We emphasize controlled technique, proper warm-ups, and a disciplined training environment. Our instructors closely supervise all activities to ensure every student trains in a safe, respectful setting.

We recommend training two to three times per week for the best results in technique development, fitness, and belt progression. That said, our schedule is flexible and even one class per week will produce meaningful improvement over time.

For your first class, comfortable athletic clothing is all you need. Once you are enrolled, we will help you get fitted for a traditional dobok (taekwondo uniform). No special equipment is required to get started.
